What Is And How Do I Start Using The RAVEfinity Official PPA?
RAVEfinity now provides a way to easily Install are themes and artwork on Ubuntu. via a software PPA.
A PPA means you will receive updates through the update manager and never have to think about updating or manually installing anything! you get it right from us! right when its released!
To activate this PPA instantly on Ubuntu 10.10, 11.04, 11.10, 12.04.
1.) Press Ctrl+Alt+T (Or browse and open the terminal application from your app menu)
2.)Simply Paste this into the terminal:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ravefinity-project/ppa
sudo apt-get update
(You may need to copy and paste 1 line after another. this is a Que of commands not 1 single command)
(!) You will now be prompted for your user password... type this in the terminal when asked
(This gives your system permission to install the software source. your password is not shared with anyone and only your computer verifies and keeps it.)
3.) Now Press Enter to confirm adding of the software PPA.
Now How Do I Get Or Install Software From This PPA?
(!) Once you have completed the steps above...
1.) Simply Open Up The "Ubuntu Software Center"
2.) Click on the drop down arrow right next to the "All Software" Button.
3.) Select RAVEfintiy Offical PPA from the list...
4.) You will now see a list of our themes artwork and releases. Simply click on any one for more info or click install to install them!
Once Done Click the All Software Button to return to the Software Center Home Screen.
If you don't want to use the software center...
Check on the Download page of the software you are looking to download...
You should see something like: "sudo apt-get install ambiance-colors radiance-color"
All you would do is paste that into a terminal! or..
Use the Synaptic package manager to install the software we offer... (See the Our Work Section) Simply search for the name of the software in synaptic.
(NOTE) If you would just like to download the Ubuntu (.Deb) packages manually then just see the download page of the theme in question.
